"Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. Devour old films, new films, music, books, paintings, photographs, poems, dreams, random conversations, architecture, bridges, street signs, trees, clouds, bodies of water, light and shadows. Select only things to steal from that speak directly to your soul. If you do this, your work (and theft) will be authentic. Authenticity is invaluable; originality is non-existent. And don’t bother concealing your thievery - celebrate it if you feel like it. In any case, always remember what Jean-Luc Godard said: “It’s not where you take things from - it’s where you take them to." -Jim Jarmusch

Hunter Gatherer by Hannah Isolde Goodman // 99 Days In // NSCAD Fashion Design Show // December 2011
I’m sad to have to say goodbye to one of the best seamstress/stitchers/designers/assistants I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with. Hannah is bound for glory and off to Germany on an exchange program starting in February. Here are some runway shots of her most recent collection completed at the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design in December 2011.
Good bye Hannah and good luck!
I know I will see you again someday, very likely on the pages of Vogue… damn girl, you are one hot talent and I will miss you!
